Memorandum to the Director -10th October

Dear Friends,
Here with attached is the Memorandum submitted to the Director, Dept. of AYUSH karnataka on 10/10/2011. The director has assured the counseling to happen by the end of October 2011.

From,                                            Date: 10/10/2011
Ayurveda PG aspirants 2011, Karnataka

To,
The Director,
Dept. of AYUSH,
Govt. of Karnataka

Sub: Delay in counseling of Ayurveda PG seats in Karnataka 2011-regarding

Sir,
As you are aware, this year The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka conducted PG entrance exams for admission in (Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Physiotherapy, Nursing and pharmacy) post-graduation courses on the 3rd of April 2011. The merit list of the same was announced on 23rd April 2011. But till now there has been no notification for the counseling for allotment of seats for the PG aspirants of Ayurveda. The first year post-graduation course is scheduled to start from first week of June in all constituent colleges under RGUHS.

We would like to draw your attention to our earlier Memorandum dated 20th June 2011 regarding the same issue. We had received an oral reply from you that as soon the approval of Ayurveda colleges in Karnataka is notified by the Dept. of AYUSH, Govt. of India, the seat Matrix will be immediately prepared and the counseling conducted. The Dept. of AYUSH has already notified the updated approval Status which covers all Ayurveda PG colleges in Karnataka on 16th September 2011. (Ref: Official website of Dept. of AYUSH,-www.indianmedicine.nic.in)
We were anticipating the counseling to happen at least by the end of September 2011. But the University has not notified the date of counseling till now. Enquiry in the University refers to Dept. of AYUSH, Karnataka not submitting the seat matrix. This is the first time that the PG counseling in Karnataka is delayed for so much.   In Maharashtra, the counseling was conducted as soon as the approval of the PG colleges was notified by the Dept. of AYUSH, Govt. of India.

In the Memorandum submitted on 20th June 2011, we had requested you to look into the irregularities regarding the counseling process. Though you were kind enough to form a committee comprising of Dr. Mangalagi and Dr. M. Ramesh to verify the facts and had ordered submission of a report, there is no information on the progress in this regard.

This has resulted in a lot of confusion and uncertainty in the PG aspirants of Karnataka regarding the process of counseling and also availability of seats under Govt. quota.
The non- availability of seat matrix in time has led to the following consequences-
1. Delay in counseling leading to missed opportunities for taking up other entrance examinations elsewhere.
2. Delay leading to postponement of first year exams of MD/MS courses upto 6 months.
3. Not announcing seat matrix in advance

On behalf of all the Ayurveda PG aspirants of Karnataka we request you to kindly look into the matter very seriously and start the counseling process as soon as possible.

Thanking you,                                                               AYURVEDA PG ASPIRANTS 2011, KARNATAKA
